The Import-Export Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade has just published a list of traders exporting rice to July 15. According to this list, the country has 192 entrepreneurs eligible for rice export business.
In particular, Can Tho has the largest number of rice exporters in the country with 41 enterprises, followed by TP. HCM with 34 enterprises, Long An with 25 enterprises, An Giang with 20 enterprises, Dong Thap with 17 enterprises, Hanoi with 7 enterprises, Kien Giang with 6 enterprises and Nghe An with 6 enterprises.
Some localities have only one rice export trader, namely Ben Tre, Binh Dinh, Binh Duong, Hau Giang, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Lang Son and Quang Tri.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the first 6 months of this year, under the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the trade with China through the land road border gate was almost stagnant at the beginning of February, the export of goods. Agriculture, forestry and fisheries are greatly affected.
Agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the first 6 months is about 11.7 billion USD, down by 4.4% YoY. However, in the first 6 months of the year, rice was one of the few commodities not affected by the disease when both the value and export volume increased significantly compared to the same period in 2019.
Generally in the first 6 months of this year, rice export output reached 3.54 million tons, worth US $ 1.73 billion, up 5.6% in volume and 19.3% in value.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, with the advantages of the market, especially the world rice demand, which has increased since the Covid-19 outbreak, Vietnamese rice enterprises are having an opportunity to increase production and export prices. rice export.
With such optimistic signals, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development forecasts that the export target of 6.7 million tons of rice in 2020 may reach its goal. In addition, the EVFTA Agreement, which will take effect in August, will be a driving force for rice exports to demanding markets with high standards./.
