Generally, in the first 6 months of 2020, the country exported 3.5 million tons of rice, equivalent to 1.7 billion USD. The average price of 488 USD / ton, up both in volume, price and turnover over the same period in 2019, with an increase of 5%, 13% and 19% respectively.
Currently, the Philippines is the largest consumer market of Vietnamese rice, accounting for 39% of the country's total rice export and accounting for 36.9% of the total turnover, reaching 1.4 million tons, equivalent to 634 million USD. The price reached nearly USD 461 / ton, up 13% in volume, up 30% in turnover and up 15% in price over the same period in 2019.

Ranked second is the Chinese market, rice exports to this market in the first half of the year also increased sharply 58% in volume, up 89% in turnover and 19% in price over the same period. Malaysia is still the third largest market for Vietnamese rice.
